Job Overview:

IRC is seeking a dedicated and passionate Employment Program Coordinator to supervise the Santa Clara County RSS employment and Matching Grant employment programs. Reporting to the Employment Program Manager, the successful candidate will ensure program goals are met, maintain budget compliance, and sustain program development through grant writing. This role requires someone with sound judgment, a dynamic approach, and a commitment to high-quality, community-based services.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Program Management: Oversee the Santa Clara County RSS-employment and Matching Grant programs, ensuring all performance goals are met and compliance with funder and agency requirements.

- Staff Supervision: Provide leadership, supervision, and coaching to direct service staff, including Employment Specialists, Caseworkers, Digital Inclusion Specialists, interns, and volunteers.

-  Customer Services: Oversee input, assessment, and pre-employment/ job readiness exposure for eligible guests. Examine customer progress and give ongoing coaching and comfort.

- Community Outreach: Conduct outreach to community organizations, recruit volunteers and interns, and build employer partnerships.

- Administrative Compliance: Ensure proper documentation, data tracking, and produce high-quality program reports.

- Program Development: Support sustainability through program development and grant writing. Organize and expand community partnerships for supplemental workshops.

 

General Administration:

- Identify and apply for new funding opportunities with the San Jose office management and Development team.

- Oversee program expenses and collaborate with the Finance Coordinator to utilize funding appropriately.

- Participate in program meetings, staff development activities, and engage as a team member.

- Promote team engagement, inclusion, and cohesion within IRC San Jose.

- Foster a culture of ongoing learning, honest dialogue, and adherence to IRC values.

 

Qualifications:

- Education: An undergraduate degree or 4+ years of relevant experience.

- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in employment and workforce programs, with 1-3 years in client counseling, case management, or coaching preferred.

- Supervisory Experience: Previous supervisory experience required.

- Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, public speaking, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

- Cultural Competence: Ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

- Additional Skills: Experience using data and financial shadowing systems preferred. Understanding of the job requests in professional sectors in San Jose. Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus.
